Celebrating Librarian Day: The Heartbeat of Every Library
August 12 is celebrated as Librarian Day in India to honor the birth anniversary of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the father of Library Science in India. Why Librarians Matter A library without a librarian is like a garden without a gardener. Librarians do more than issue books. They guide readers, organize knowledge, conduct reading sessions, and make sure every student finds the right book at the right time. This Year’s Theme: "Librarians: Navigators of Knowledge" In today’s digital world, librarians help us navigate books, e-resources, and information. They teach us how to search, how to read, and how to think. Message Let’s take a moment today to thank the person who keeps the world of books alive for us. To every librarian — thank you for being our guide, our helper, and our friend in the world of stories. "A library is not a luxury but one of the necessities of life."
